What are the Meanings of Advance?

Advance is a term that can be used as an adjective or as a noun. The concept derives from overtaking, a verb that refers to moving forward, rushing, taking the lead or leading.

The notion of advance, in this way, is usually used to qualify those who present infrequent characteristics in these times, since they tend to be later. For example: “This boy is an advance: at 16, he plays with the maturity of the most experienced professionals on the team”, “The Romanian writer was an advance of the romantic movement”, “The critic was not prepared for an advanced artist like that is why he did not know how to value it ”.

Advance is also that which is carried out ahead of time or that is advanced: “I have already left the work in advance to be able to take the next week of vacation”, “The procedures are advanced: in a few days we will receive the credit”, “The insurer offers a 20% discount to those who choose the annual payment in advance. See ABBREVIATIONFINDER.ORG for abbreviations related to Advance.

In soccer, a player is ahead when he is in an offside position (that is, when he is offside): “The Chilean striker was ahead and the judge did not see him!” , “I did not pass the ball to you because you were ahead”, “Offside: number seven was ahead”.

In antiquity, on the other hand, an advance was a political and military authority that worked in a border territory or that represented a monarch. In general, a distinction was made between the major advance, the major advance of cuts and the sea advance.

In addition to all the above, we cannot ignore the fact that there is also what is known as “El Adelantado de Segovia”. It is a Spanish newspaper that is made and edited, as its own title indicates, in the city of Segovia.

It has its origin in the early stages of the 20th century and is still in force. It should not be overlooked that it has the honor of being the first newspaper in the autonomous community of Castilla y León to have its digital version. Specifically, this is something he accomplished in 1996.

Among the most important characters who appeared in this medium and who left their signature some stand out as famous as the poet Antonio Machado, the writer Miguel Delibes or the author and politician Mario Quintanilla, among others.

Of course, the origin of this newspaper is found in what was called “El Adelantado”, which went out on the street for the first time in 1880 and was headed by Antonio Ochoa. It was weekly and revolved around issues that concerned the aforementioned city in all aspects. However, years later it was acquired to shape the aforementioned newspaper by Rufino Cano de Rueda who, at first, tried to merge it with “Diario de Avisos de Segovia”.

Furthermore, we cannot overlook the fact that there is a village that responds to the name of the village of El Adelantado, which belongs to the Cordovan municipality of Iznájar.
