According to andyeducation, the educational system in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) is divided into three levels: pre-primary, primary and secondary. Pre-primary education is offered to children aged three to five and lasts two years. This stage focuses on developing basic skills such as language, mathematics, science, art, music and physical education. Primary education starts at age six and lasts for six years. During this period students develop their knowledge of Arabic language, Islamic studies and other subjects such as mathematics, science and social studies. Secondary education follows primary education and lasts four years. During this stage students specialize in a certain field of study such as engineering or accounting. Higher education includes universities that offer bachelor’s degrees in various fields such as business administration or law. Students who complete their higher education can pursue a master’s degree or a doctorate degree in their chosen field of study. See educationvv for United Arab Emirates educational systems.
