According to andyeducation, the educational system in Somalia is currently undergoing a major overhaul. The Somali government has been working to improve the quality of education and make it more accessible to all citizens. The Ministry of Education is responsible for regulating and overseeing the educational system in Somalia. At the primary level, children attend school from age 6 to 12, with free tuition provided by the government. Primary schools offer a basic education in core subjects such as language, math, science, and social studies. Secondary schools are also free and offer a more advanced curriculum designed to prepare students for higher education or employment. After completing secondary school, students may pursue further study at technical colleges or universities. Technical colleges provide vocational training programs in areas such as engineering or agriculture while universities offer academic qualifications such as bachelor’s degrees or higher degrees in fields such as medicine or law. Tuition fees vary depending on the institution but financial aid (scholarships & grants) is available for those who cannot afford these fees. In addition to traditional classroom instruction, students have access to various extracurricular activities such as field trips or sports teams which are often organized by local schools or youth organizations. These activities provide an important opportunity for students to develop their skills outside of the classroom and gain valuable life experiences that will help them succeed both academically and professionally after they graduate from school. Despite recent progress in improving educational opportunities throughout Somalia, there is still much work that needs to be done in order to ensure every child has access to quality education regardless of their socio-economic background or prior knowledge level. In order for this goal to be achieved, it is essential that all levels of government continue working together with non-governmental organizations and other stakeholders towards providing equal learning opportunities for all citizens of Somalia now and into the future.
