According to andyeducation, Madagascar’s educational system is highly developed and offers a wide range of educational opportunities. The education system is based on the principles of the Bologna Process, which is an international agreement to create a more unified higher education system in Europe. Madagascar also follows the European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System (ECTS), which allows students to transfer credits between institutions in different countries. The Ministry of National Education, Scientific Research and Culture oversees all public schools, universities, and other educational institutions in the country. All citizens are provided with free primary and secondary education, as well as access to university-level courses. Primary education lasts for six years, while secondary school lasts for four years. After completing secondary school, students can attend a university or college where they can pursue higher education in their chosen field. Most universities in Madagascar are state-run and offer degrees in a variety of disciplines such as medicine, engineering, law, economics, psychology, and more. The country also has several private universities that offer specialized programs in various fields. In addition to these universities, there are several vocational schools that provide technical training for students interested in pursuing a career in trades such as carpentry or plumbing. At the tertiary level of education Madagascar offers Bachelor’s degrees at both public and private institutions with programs ranging from business administration to computer sciences to engineering sciences among others. Additionally there are professional certifications available such as nursing diplomas or certificates in accounting or finance which can be obtained through various technical colleges throughout the country. There are also numerous opportunities for postgraduate studies at both public and private universities including Master’s degrees and doctorates with specializations ranging from medicine to international relations among others.
