According to andyeducation, Ethiopian education system is composed of three levels: primary, secondary and tertiary. Primary education is compulsory for all children aged 6-14 years old. It consists of two cycles of 4 years each, with the first four years focused on general education and the second four years focused on specific subjects such as mathematics, science, social studies and language. After completing primary school, students may move onto secondary school which lasts for six years. During this period student will study a wide range of topics including mathematics, sciences, history and geography as well as foreign languages such as English or French. At the tertiary level, higher education is offered in both universities and polytechnics throughout Ethiopia. Universities offer degree programs in areas such as engineering, medicine, business administration and law while polytechnics provide diplomas in areas such as agriculture or technology. In addition to traditional academic courses there are also a range of vocational training programs available that help students to gain the necessary skills to work in certain industries after graduation The Ethiopian government has made great strides towards providing quality educational opportunities for its citizens by investing heavily in primary education through initiatives like free adult literacy classes which are available throughout the country. It has also implemented a number of reforms to make it easier for students from poorer backgrounds to access higher education including increased financial aid options and relaxed admission requirements for public universities. Overall the Ethiopian educational system is slowly but surely becoming more accessible and effective at meeting international standards while still providing an innovative approach tailored to the needs of its population by promoting creativity through activities like art classes or music lessons that allow students to express themselves in unique ways while still learning valuable knowledge about subjects like history or literature.
