According to ANDYEDUCATION, 49 kilometers from Moscow, at the top of the Dmitrovskaya ridge, there is the Sorochany ski resort, known among the capital’s skiers for the steep slopes and long runs (by Moscow standards, of course). Well-prepared slopes allow skiing enthusiasts to hone their technique, and a well-thought-out ski pass system makes trips to Sorochany affordable even for budget travelers.

The tracks are open every day from 10:00 on weekdays, and from 9:00 on weekends; on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays the tracks close at 3:00, on other days – at midnight.

How to get to Sorochany

By car

At the 37th kilometer of Dmitrovskoye Highway, after the turn signal to Yaroslavl, you should turn right and drive over the bridge, immediately after the bridge – turn left, the next turn to the left will be ten kilometers later near the village of Ilinskoye. Sorochany is located two kilometers from Ilyinsky.

By bus

From Moscow to the bus station of the city of Dmitrov, you can take bus number 401, in Dmitrov, change to bus number 42, which will take you to the village of Kurovo, located near Sorochany.

By train

From the Savelovsky railway station, by trains of the Dmitrovsky direction, you need to get to the Yakhroma station, at the station, transfer to the bus route 42 to the village of Kurovo.

Trails in Sorochany

The resort has 10 slopes (3 blue, 4 red and 3 black) with a length of 400 to 1000 m; the height difference is 80-90 m. The height of the hill: 225 m. The variety of slopes allows both beginners and experienced skiers to ski in Sorochany.

You can get to the starting point using a ski lift, a towing lift and two chair lifts (double and four-seater). Snow cover during the season is provided by snow machines, the tracks are lit in the evening.

Ski pass and ski service

A one-time climb to the mountain costs 120 RUB on weekdays, 240 RUB on weekends (30 and 65 RUB for children, respectively). Therefore, tourists who regularly come to Sorochany stock up at the beginning of the season with subscriptions that guarantee preferential tariff plans. So, according to the Freestyle tariff plan, a one-time lift will cost 30 RUB on weekdays and 70 RUB on weekends. The prices on the page are for February 2021.

You can rent mountain and cross-country skis, a snowboard and all the necessary ski equipment. Hourly ski or snowboard rental costs from 450 RUB on weekdays (from 600 RUB on weekends).

In Sorochany, you can repair your ski equipment (from 100 RUB for minor repairs to 1000 RUB for complete preparation of edges and sliding surface of skis) and use the conveniences of a storage room where you can leave your skis and boards between races at the resort.

There are two restaurants in Sorochany: Izbushka, which specializes in Russian cuisine, and Vitrazh, which offers a European menu, as well as a cafe-bar.

Sorochany in summer

In summer, life at the resort does not stop – on the sports grounds you can play football and volleyball, participate in team games and tournaments, sunbathe on the beach by the pond. Rollers, bicycles, electric cars and all kinds of sports equipment can be rented.

Paid fishing services include equipped fishing bridges, fishing houses for recreation and a picturesque lake with pike, perch, carp, silver carp and grass carp. Fishing enthusiasts can rent equipment, and beginners can use the help of an instructor.

Paintball battles in Sorochany are organized on a grand scale. One site (smaller) with artificial turf is located directly in the complex, the other (larger) is in the forest.
